Access Control & Security

Access control is a cornerstone of the Cheval West community. Our Community Services staff is dedicated to ensuring all vehicles are properly validated and cleared before entry. With the transition to a modernized, integrated system, resident participation is more vital than ever in maintaining a secure environment.

Our Gates

Cheval features four points of entry. To provide 24/7 coverage and efficiency, we utilize a combination of staffed and unstaffed gate management:

  • Lutz Lake Fern Gate: Staffed 24/7
  • Dale Mabry: Staffed 24/7
  • Ramblewood Gate: Staffed 24/7 (Note: Project underway to improve the gate infrastructure to support the unstaffing of this entrance during slow time-periods.)
  • Chambord Gate: Unstaffed. IMPORTANT: All Chambord Residents are requested to sign up for MyWatchtower. This software allows provisioning PIN and QR codes. Also, all 4-digit PIN codes used by the old DoorKing Systems callbox will expire soon.

Note: Cheval does not have a designated "commercial" or "freight" entrance. Residents, guests, and vendors may use any of the community's entances.

Software System

Cheval has upgraded its access control platform to MyWatchtower by JEKA Software, a premier cloud-based access control and visitor management platform. MyWatchtower provides the following:

  • Hardware Integration: Seamlessly connects gate phones and security cameras, allowing for real-time video verification of all entry events.
  • Resident Control: Manage guest and vendor lists instantly via any web browser, iOS, or Android device.
  • Smart Alerts: Receive immediate push notifications or emails the moment a guest is cleared.
  • Unstaffed Gate: Provides Chambord resident's the same modern system to manage their access control needs.

Resident Actions

Residents contribute to the community overall by keeping their property’s data current and accurate.
